Description
The Type 903 replenishment ship (NATO: Fuchi-class) is the primary replenishment oiler (AOR) for the People’s Liberation Army Navy (PLAN), designed to enable blue-water, long-distance expeditionary missions. With a full-load displacement of over 23,000 tons, these vessels provide crucial logistics support—including fuel, water, and dry cargo—to combat groups. Commissioned starting in 2004, the class has expanded to include upgraded Type 903A variants, significantly increasing the PLAN’s endurance in the Pacific and Indian Oceans.
