Description
The
USS Ronald Reagan (CVN-76) is a Nimitz-class nuclear-powered supercarrier and a cornerstone of American maritime power projection. Commissioned on July 12, 2003, it was the first aircraft carrier named in honour of a living former president. Carrying the motto “Peace Through Strength,” the ship serves as a “floating city” and a mobile airbase capable of operating anywhere in the world.
The vessel has played critical roles in international exercises like RIMPAC and provided humanitarian aid, such as during the 2011 Japanese earthquake relief and 2015 Nepal earthquake response.
